Share Six – Winter Light – January 2018

We haven’t gotten a good snow here in the midwest for quite some time. It hasn’t looked much like winter here So when it snowed the day before Christmas Eve we were thrilled. A white Christmas! Finally winter light.  You can see in the pictures it wasn’t a lot but it was enough to make it look like winter and go sledding!!!  My kids are 7 and 4 and so far we have used the little hill in our yard to go sledding. This is the first year we tried out the big hill in our neighborhood and we’re hooked! We had so much fun! Right after the snow stopped the clouds started to open up and created some beautiful light. Here are some of my favorites from our winter sledding adventure.

I have joined a group of photographers, Share Six, who will be blogging 6 images each month. Each month is a different theme.  Please click HERE to see Katherine of Cobert Photography’s interpretation of this months theme.

Join us for this month’s theme by posting your Winter Light images on our Facebook page at Share Six and to our Instagram gallery,  by tagging #sharesix and #sharesix_winterlight.  A new theme will come out on January 6th.

  • LizOh I love the contrast of the hill and sky which really emphasizes the scale and size. And what energy and joy you captured! Love it! ReplyCancel

  • Brandi GeoghaganOh how much fun! Love the perspective! What a great Christmas Eve 🙂ReplyCancel

  • SharleenOh wow, that looks likes so much fun.  I love the fact that you took them to a bigger hill.  I remember us “sledding” on the sand dunes in South Africa.  That was so much fun but we swallowed more sand than I ever expected.  I love that your kids seemed to have so much fun.  ReplyCancel

  • Lynne GrantThis looked like the most amazing fun, your images made me want to actually be there!ReplyCancel

  • CeriWhat a lot of fun! You really captured the joy of the moment ReplyCancel

  • ToriThe joy in the third one is my favorite! And how fun to hit the big hill! We are somewhere in the middle now… We use our backyard hill, with the exciting possibility of slamming into the neighbor’s fence – so far, that hasn’t happened!ReplyCancel
