Share Six – Favorite Quote – June 2019

“Simple it’s not, I am afraid you will find, for a mind-maker-upper to make up his mind.”

This describes me to a T! I’m indecisive in a lot of things I do and so when it came down to choosing just one quote, I started to panic a bit. I did decide I wanted to choose a Dr. Seuss quote as those are some of my all time favorites. My indecisiveness led me to not just one quote but several Dr. Seuss quotes for this month’s share six theme, favorite quote(s).

“How did it get so late so soon? Its night before its afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?”

Can I just say how fast my kiddos are growing up. Life is seriously flying by! They say, we only have 18 summers together with our kids. It has already been 9 with my daughter….half way through our 18 summers…yikes! I love watching my kids grow, but slow down please! Reminds me to slow down and appreciate all the time we have together and truly enjoy it!

“Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!”

Love that both my kids are creative, problem solvers, and active in different activities and sports.  It gives them the opportunity to explore what they like to do and what they do best. My daughter is quite good at Tumbling. It’s just a tad bit obvious in these images..haha.

“I meant what I said and I said what I meant.”

I had no idea this was a Dr. Seuss quote! Wonder how many times parents, myself in particular, have said this line?! It is a hard gig raising children!  Especially when you really care and want them to be honest, kind, empathetic, smart, and caring members of society. There are so many times I think I’m failing and then BAM, one little instance proves that is anything but true!

“In my world, everyone’s a pony and they all eat rainbows and poop butterflies!”

I wish! In all seriousness, I chose this quote because I try to have a positive attitude around my kids. I want to set the best example for my kids I can. There is always more than one way to look at things and you can almost always see a positive out of every situation.

Funny story about rainbows and poop…once when my boy was about 3 and pretty much potty trained (hadn’t pooped in pants for at least 3 months) he had an accident. I thought he just got busy playing and didn’t want to bother with it.  I asked him why he pooped in his pants and his response, “I thought I’d poop rainbows.” I wish buddy, I wish!

“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”

This quote is probably one of my favorites! My kids personalities could not be any more different than they are. And I LOVE that about them! I embrace my kids for who they are and I try my very best as their mother to listen with open ears, support, love, and embrace them for exactly who they are!
